Consultation Signup Process
Consultation Signups are done on the morning of the conference starting at 7:45 a.m.
Priority Number
When we receive your paid registration we assign you a priority number. This number can be found on your nametag which is in your registration envelope packet. You may pick up your packet on Friday night or on Saturday morning. You must wear your nametag in order to sign up for a consultation.
Guild members receive higher priority numbers than non-guild members.
Signing Up
Starting at 7:45 am we will invite you to sign up for consultations. There are three rounds of signups. You may sign up for at most one consultation during each round.
Labels
Inside your registration packet you will find three sticky-back labels with your name printed on them. Each label is a different color. For example: Blue, Yellow, and Pink. You may only sign up for a consultation using a label. Handwritten signups are not allowed.
Signup Sheets
Each faculty member has a sign up sheet. Sample. The sheets are arranged alphabetically on tables. The sheets have spaces for 15-minute consultation slots. Some timeslots are blacked out. This represents times when the faculty member is not available for consultations because they are teaching a workshop, giving a general session talk.
Rounds
At 7:45 am the first round of signups will begin. Round 1 will be the "Pink" round. You will be invited, in small groups based on your priority number, to come up and sign up for the consultation of your choice. For example, the first group called will be those with numbers 1-10; then 11-20, etc. During this round only pink labels may be placed on the singup sheets. This continues until everyone has been called for round 1.
Immediately following round 1, the second round of signups begins. Round 2 will be the "Yellow" round. Only yellow labels may be placed o the signup sheets during round 2. Numbers 1-10 will be called to sign up for their second consultation. This continues until everyone has been called for round 2.
Round three uses the final color label and starts over with numbers 1-10.
Full Sheets
When all consultation slots for a faculty member have been filled, that sheet will be turned over on the table.
