Bob Hamer
Bob HamerBob Hamer grew up in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating from Anderson University and then law school at the University of Cincinnati, he spent four years in the Marine Corps as a judge advocate. He recently retired from the FBI after 26 years as a special agent. He spent many of those years undercover posing as everything from a drug dealer, to a contract killer to a pedophile. “I saw some of the best and worst of mankind,” Hamer said, “and felt God’s protective arms surrounding me even when the situations got tough.”
A member of the Writers Guild of America, Hamer has two TV writing credits and has served as the tech advisor for the television series The Inside and Angela’s Eyes. He has also consulted for Law & Order: SVU and Sleeper Cell. He has written eighteen short stories for DCCC, Inc, a textbook company providing curriculum for Christian schools. In September, Hachette Book Group will release THE LAST UNDERCOVER: The True Story of an FBI Agent’s Dangerous Dance with Evil. “The book details my three year infiltration of NAMBLA, the North American Man/Boy Love Association and recounts a dozen other undercover cases that provided me the confidence and experience to take on my most difficult role, that of a pedophile.”
Hamer’s involvement with the Guild began when he and his wife moved to Escondido four years ago from Los Angeles. “I learned about the Guild while searching the web and attended the fall conference two years ago,” he said. “I enjoy interacting with other Christian writers, sharing support and experiences.”
